Switzerland Tour is right here to create the best tourism experience for you in Switzerland. We understand the very best places to visit and take your tastes and preferences into consideration.
Here’s one of the great deals that we have to offer on a private excursion to help you learn more about the magic of Switzerland and explore it’s fascinating history and cultural identity.
You’ll meet your friendly driver-guide at a convenient location in Zurich, where you will start your exciting journey to Saint Gallen that lies between Lake Constance and Appenzellerland. Sit back and admire the delightful scenery through the windows of your comfortable, private vehicle.
Your first destination is the founding of St. Gallen, attributed to the Irish monk Gallus in the early 6th century. Nowadays, Saint Gallen is famous for its intricate lace which is used worldwide by popular fashion brands such as Chanel and Dior. The local Textile Museum documents the interesting history of the industry.
Next, you will stop at Saint Gallen – the highlight of Eastern Switzerland. Here you will get to see the main tourist attraction of the charming city - the Abbey Library. It is a baroque cathedral that has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage since 1983. Its unique architecture along with the colorfully painted oriel windows and detailed Rococo interior will take your breath away. It houses over two thousand manuscripts dating back to the 8th - 15th centuries and also includes early German literature.
You will also get to visit the charming traffic-free Old Town and travel its traditional roads on foot to find old-fashioned tea shops, perfumeries, tiny coffee houses and shoe stores.
Afterward, we will continue on to Appenzell in northeastern Switzerland, at the foot of the Alpstein Mountains. It is perfect for leisurely exploration with its streets full of houses, beautifully decorated facades and shops selling local products. The townscape of Appenzell is characterized by the high and low buildings and attractively painted and unique wooden houses with curving or broken gables.
Appenzell is the tourist center and starting point for hiking in the Alpstein area, carrying typical souvenirs for Appenzell and supporting the Appenzell Museum. This fantastic museum is located in the Town Hall, and strongly reflects the cultural and religious traditions of the area.
After the trip, you will return to your starting point in Zurich City relaxed but full of energy, with the photographs of a terrific experience in your pocket.
We offer an optional excursion to Mount Säntis on this trip. From here the cable car will unravel the spectacular panoramic view over 6 countries including Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, France and Italy. It’s a sight not to be missed!
