Description
Start your hiking day as our driver-guide picks you up from your accommodation in Zurich and takes you through the charming landscape of Switzerland, to Lauterbrunnen, also called the Valley of 72 Waterfalls.
From there, ascend to Grütschalp via the panoramic gondola, where you will start your exhilarating hike to Allmendhubel 1900m above sea level.
You will be able to explore at your own pace in this self-guided experience. You will be provided with a detailed description of the way and will be navigating the well-marked path by yourself.
The trail will lead you through the alpine meadows below Schilthorn (2970m) and enjoy the breathtaking views of Jungfrau, Mönch, and Eiger – the most iconic mountains of Central Switzerland.
After approximately 2,5 hours, a total of 5km and 480m of elevation gain, you will reach Allmendhubel. Here, you can enjoy local refreshments at the Panoramic Restaurant. Nearby, you can get educated about the Alpine fauna in a Flower Path that offers informative displays for both young and old.
After a well-deserved rest with the alpine views on the background, you will continue with a short hike down to Mürren or you can take the funicular directly at the Panoramic Restaurant, in case your feet are tired. From Mürren, you'll comfortably descend via gondola to Stechelberg, all the while enjoying breathtaking vistas of the numerous waterfalls and steep cliffs that define the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
Your driver will be waiting for you at the Station in Stechelberg and you can choose between two options:
1) Take the hiking path out of the Lauterbrunnen Valley (5km) and have your picnic at a spot of your choice.
2) Or our driver will take you to a scenic spot on the shores of Lake Brienz to enjoy your picnic and swim in the crystal clear water.
At the end of your day, our driver will safely bring you back to your accommodation in Zurich.
